Default How to stop those griefing runners in PVP

Why not just make it so that if no damage is inflicted within 30 seconds, the team with the most overall life wins? This only comes into effect after the first 5 minutes of gameplay to give teams a chance from the start.

OR, just bring a snare... you know... whichever works...

Mithie - We shouldn't have to set aside 2 of our 8 skills now. We shouldn't have to catch people who are running around because they're delaying the inevitable.

SOT - I'll try that once I shove a ram rod up your RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOin ass.

Your grasp of the meaningful is beyond your station.

Snares are useful outside of shutting down runners too, you know, like restricting the enemy warrior's ability to manuver.

I'll agree with a time limit though...

Yes, they can be useful, and so can a lot of other skills. But I shouldn't be forced to bring this with me if I don't need it in my build. Res signet is useful, and it's pretty much a must to bring in with you.

All I know is this ram rod is in my grasp and is not far from behind your station.

They are using the running skills to do exactly what they were meant to do with them - run. Why do you think they put them in the game in the first place.

DoT spells and Conditions seem to work particularly well against runners anyways.

So dehydration has set in. Too long at the box. Too many LSD drops.

Anyhow, my initial comment was sarcasm, it's not my fault you cannot take anything you read on the internet other than seriously.

Your response to my initial post says more than anything you could possiblly post in the future. Remain here, chained to your misery.

Woah, you're getting serious. I thought this was all sarcasm to just bump this up while having a funny conversation. LOL. In that case I shall remain here weeping in sorrow chained to my misery on this ever-so-gloomy day.

Because if you lack the skill to bring down a runner you don't deserve to win. Also it punishes those who use Sup Runes, rewards warriors for having life boosts and would result in unfair descisions.

Take the match i posted in this thread on the same subject: Link

According to your suggestion I would have lost since there were 30 second periods where no fighting was being done, mainly where they were running from me. Yet I came back to win from 4 vs 1 so why should my skill be punished because you haven't got enough to bring down a lone runner.

Not to mention as most runners are rangers stopping to fire an arrow every 30 seconds would be no problem if they have the skill to last that long. A better solution is to have the match considered a draw if it goes on for 15 minutes and allow both teams to carry on to the next fight but with no faction gain.

Yesterday a runner beat the 4x4 random team I was on. There were only 2 people alive and an ele started running. She never attacked, just ran around in circles. Then before my teamate turned a corner and before she could even see her, the ele attacked and used all her regen'd energy and we lost in about 5 seconds...

jdwoody: that was skill. She outsmarted you. Mind you, she would have outsmarted me, most likely. But that is a deserved win. She just took the right course of action: avoid you till she could use her powers at full - and then unleash.

The way to solve the "ending health" issue is: take percentage of health over INITIAL. You take DP every time you die, so if you died once and have full health at end of bout, it's 85%. Sum the factors of the members and you're there. No bonuses for high health, bonus for keeping yourself alive, and 2 alive always win over 1 alive (1 at full is 100%, 2 that died a gazillion times still make up 120%). 2 alive that never died (200) win over 3 that died a gazillion times (180%) which is probably what would've happened anyway. Has nothing to do with skill, but what can you do... skillwise, it's a stalemate. I'd say put a 15minutes limit. If a bout goes on THAT long, it's not going to be solved by right of arms anyway.

or you just have your team split up and cut them off, there is not a single DM match in PvP where you cant cut off/deny even without run skills, with my mez, i just wastrels worry runners, seems to be effective, if they STOP running? backfire, empathy, wastrels, seems to be effective to make them stand there or just drop out (or just do the honorable thing and stand there and die, or put up the last bit of fight)

Granted, running when you are the last person left... annoying on the winning team, quite fun when you are the runner... I find it amusing when im the last one left, my rez sig is gone, and the people on the other team cant figure it out to cut me off, they all just follow me in circles,

I was playing as a semi-anti-caster ranger in comp arena, it was me vs two wars left.. both had used their rez sig (i saw them, and it was a good fight) i had used mine, so what i did, pin down on one war, apply poison + hunters shot on the other, when he tried to use heal sig, distracting shot, then keep running, kept that up and ended up winning... is it MY fault that the wars didnt have sprint? No. I played my class to its fullest and took advantage of the skills I had, against the skills they had.
Took about 3 minutes per warrior, but i finally got both of them. Just because you dont bring a snare, or dont have people competant enough to cut someone off doesnt mean that there should be an "auto-win" condition... it would get abused severely... run in, kill one person... run away! wait 30 seconds, you win...

Not really... I seen teams res up and win after all dying and someone ran away.

2*40 = 80. 3 * 40 = 120. Nice math skills you have.

...Rule of thumb:You or one of your teammates should always bring at least one anti-runner skill.

Though its incredibly hilarious to see a team of 8 people in tombs that lacks any skills to use.
